# Pricing and limits

> Packs, the monthly upstream cost limits, and what is currently free. Prices are TODO until billing is configured.

Payment is implemented in the service (Stripe Checkout, customer portal, signed webhooks) but **no prices are configured**, so no pack can be purchased today. This page states only what the service does. Public pricing will be added here when it is decided.

## Packs

Tools are grouped into packs. A tool call checks that its pack is enabled for the workspace, and that the pack's monthly **upstream cost** has not reached its limit.

Limits are on the cost OpenNomos pays upstream, counted per calendar month (UTC) from the provider's receipt. Cache hits do not count. **The limits and usage are not displayed to users**, so an agent only learns about them when a call fails with `soft_limit`.

## What is open right now

The production service runs with open pack access: every authenticated workspace, existing and new, can use **all packs without a subscription**. The per-pack monthly limits above still apply. This setting does not change subscription records and can be turned off to return to entitlement-based access.

## Estimated cost per call

Each tool page lists the estimated upstream cost. Typical: `search_signals` ~$0.01 per source, `seo_research` $0.002–$0.013 by action, `ai_visibility` ~$0.004, `collect_feedback` ~$0.001, `creator_lookup` $0.001–$0.01 by action, `competitor_intel` ~$0.0024–$0.012 by action, `news_search` ~$0.001. These are estimates; the settled cost comes from the provider's receipt.

## Abuse limits

Not billing: capacity guards per project, 10,000 memories, 5,000 opportunities, 200 experiments and 2,000 short links; 4 KB per memory; 60 writes and 120 searches per minute per workspace (per server instance).

## Errors you can hit

| Code | HTTP | Meaning |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `pack_required` | 403 | The tool's pack is not enabled. `details` has the pack, the console URL and `action: "give_up_and_tell_user"`. |
| `soft_limit` | 429 | The pack's monthly upstream cost limit was reached. Try next month or ask the user. |
